UTILITY MAPPING

When undertaking the design, planning, and delivery of all forms of construction work, the detection of all the services mentioned above is essential. All surveys are carried out using Electromagnetic Detection Methods and GPR using the latest technologies. All of our surveys are presented using Auto CAD and PDF, delivered to a market-leading standard. All drawings are produced by the surveyor and delivered with accuracy and proficiency.

MASW SEISMIC SURVEY

The multi-channel analysis of surface waves (MASW) technique is frequently employed to examine the elastic stiffness properties of the ground for geotechnical engineering and seismic hazard assessment. LCC conducts numerous MASW Survey to support geotechnical research, including the mapping of shear-wave velocity variations with depth, void detection mapping, and seismic site assessments for construction and infrastructure development.

REFLECTION AND REFRACTION

Seismic reflection and refraction techniques can detect changes in material types based on depth and horizontal location. This method visualizes the boundaries between materials that have differing acoustic or seismic velocities. Such differences correspond to variations in the elastic properties and/or density of the materials involved. By mapping these contrasts over a given area, one can determine the extent and depth of particular layers or interfaces

TDEM GEOPHYSICAL SURVEY

Time-Domain Electromagnetic survey employs the concept of electromagnetic induction to evaluate changes in the subsurface’s electrical conductivity. An electric current with a specific frequency and magnitude is transmitted through a large coil, creating a magnetic field in the surrounding space, including the subsurface. This magnetic field then induces electrical currents, referred to as eddy currents, in the material of the ground.

ERT GEOPHYSICAL SURVEY

The Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT) technique serves as a valuable tool for characterizing subsurface materials in relation to their electrical properties. Variations in electrical resistivity (or conductivity) often correlate with changes in lithology, water saturation, fluid conductivity, porosity, and permeability, which can be employed to identify stratigraphic units, geological structures, sinkholes, fractures, and groundwater.

VES GEOPHYSICAL SURVEY

Vertical Electrical Sounding (VES) is an electrical resistivity approach that involves the quick assessment of ground resistance variations at specific depths. VES measurements are usually carried out by inserting a set of current or potential electrodes into the ground, with a fixed spacing between the probes. This configuration generates an electric field, enabling the measurement of potential and thus the calculation of electrical resistance.
